The process of armature rewinding involves stripping
the armature, recording the winding data, insulating the
core, placing machine-wound coils in the slots or
rewinding the coils into the slots by hand, connecting
the commutator, testing the windings, varnishing,
baking, and balancing.
Stripping
Before stripping an armature, record all available
winding data on an armature data card, as shown in
