UPDATE CASREPWith the exception of the CASUALTY andESTIMATE sets, you need to report in the UPDATECASREP only previously unreported casualtyinformation or information that has changed (or wasreported in error). In most cases, you may changeinformation in a previously reported data set by merelysubmitting the same data set again with the correctedinformation. You must submit an UPDATE CASREP fora casualty when any of the following criteria apply:1. There is a need to complete informationreporting requirements or to revise previously submittedinformation.2. The casualty situation changes; for example, theestimated repair date has changed, parts status haschanged significantly, additional assistance is needed,and so on.3. Additional malfunctions are discovered in thesame item of equipment.4. All parts ordered to repair the equipment arereceived.5. Upon receipt of any significant part orThere can only be one outstanding CASREP foreach item of equipment. Additional problems ormalfunctions on the same item must be reported usingan UPDATE CASREP and do not require thesubmission of a new INITIAL CASREP.Each casualty being updated in an UPDATECASREP must begin with a CASUALTY set followedby one or more sets that provide information concerningthat casualty.An AMPN set must be used (immediately followingthe ESTIMATE set) to report the receipt of partspreviously reported as being required to repair acasualty.CORRECT CASREPYou must submit a CORRECT CASREP whenequipment that has been the subject of a casualty reportis repaired and back in operational condition. When youuse a CASREP to report the correction of a casualtysituation, include the following information in anAMPN set:1. The delay, expressed in hours, in correcting thecasualty because of pacts unavailability, caused by theequipment, inclusion of the date of receipt is required.supply system.Figure 5-3.–Casualty categories and criteria.5-9
